Chapter 45

Alexa’s POV

I woke up tangled up in arms and legs and sparks flying all over me. The mate bond was great. I could get used to waking up to this every day of my life.

“Girls, are you guys OK?” I linked both of my wolves.

“Yes, we're good but are you ok after your mental breakdown?” Storm asked.

“Yes, I feel better now.”

“Thank the goddess, I thought we were going to have to take over for you yesterday.” Jade said back.

“We have to find more information about Robert.”

“Princess, what's going on in that pretty head of yours?” Colter asked, pulling me away from my wolves.

“Just talking to my wolves.”

“Are you OK?"

“Yes, sorry about my mental breakdown.”

“I was more worried that it hadn't happened. You know I'm always here for you."

“I know."

I know he says it but I come with a lot of extra baggage and I don't even know how to process having two wolves yet. “Princess, stop with the doubts will you? I love you."

“What? How did you know how I was feeling?”

“We marked each other. I can feel your feelings."

I had totally forgotten about that. So much happened yesterday. How could I forget that? I don't regret it at all. It was just a little fast.

“I love you too." I did love him. After everything he has done for me.

“Come on Princess, you need to pack your stuff so you can go meet your new pack. We leave here at one pm today.”

I groaned and rolled out of bed and headed to the shower. After a quick shower, I headed to my closet to get dressed and I heard Colter turn the shower on. If we had more time, I would join him.

“Girl, we always have time." Jade linked me.

“No, we have to get out of here.”

After getting dressed, I started throwing clothes on my bed to pack up. After I grabbed my clothes, I went through and found the shoes I wanted to take with me and then grabbed the luggage I had and started throwing my clothes in there. Colter had finally gotten out of the shower and when he saw what I was doing he had a look of confusion on his face.

“What are you doing?” He asked.

“Packing”

“Not like that, you need to fold these and put your shoes in a different suitcase”

“Are you one of those OCD people who has to have everything just right?”

“No, it can just be done neatly and not wrinkle your clothes and your shoes won't get your clothes dirty”

I had to giggle at myself because I was the polar opposite and didn't really care and my mate was totally OCD.

“Are you laughing at me?"

“Nope.” Apparently, that was the wrong answer because he threw me on the bed and started tickling me.

“Stop!” I said, laughing. I may be very ticklish.

“Give me a kiss and I will stop.” He said.

I grabbed his shirt and pulled him down to me and started kissing him, but it was short-lived since someone was knocking on our door.

I got up and answered the door and it was Sloane and Liam.

“Need help?” Sloane asked.

“I don't know someone over there who is a little OCD about things.”

He just rolled his eyes at me and kept folding my clothes.

We all walked in and finished folding my clothes.

“Alexa, we found a few more things last night while you were asleep. We're going to take them with us and we can start doin; some research when we get there. I also have an IT guy who can hack into your dad's computer and, hopefully, we will find more information.” Colter said.

I'turned to give him a kiss for picking up my slack when Sloane let out a squeal!

“Oh goddess, is that a mark on your neck, Alexa Lynn Silver?”

She ran over to me and pushed my head to the side to take a closer look.

“That is beautiful, but why are there three wolves?”

“Because I have two wolves, but that is a conversation for another day.”

I walked back over and helped Colter finish packing my things and then the boys took them downstairs to load them. “Really how are you?” Sloane asked.

“I really am OK. Colter has been amazing and has helped me so much. I just feel bad because I have all this baggage”

“I see the way he looks at you and he will do anything for you."

“I love him."

It was then the boys walked back in.

“I need to go see Aubree. I was supposed to check on her yesterday.’

“She is OK but we can go see her”

I grabbed Colter's hand as we all walked to the hospital. When we got there, a guard was standing outside her door. I knocked and went in and Colter stood outside.

“Hello, Aubree.”

She turned and looked at me and I could see that she was crying.

“What's wrong, Aubree?”

“He's dead?”

“Yes, you are safe now.”

“Thank you. I don't know who killed them but I am so happy to be free”

“I did. We are leaving this pack because it is not safe with Robert on the run. You can come with us or you can go back to your old pack. However, we are hoping that you can help with locating Robert.”

“I don't want to go back to my old pack, that's for sure, and I don't know how much help I will be, but I will try”

“We will get you transported this afternoon. I have someone packing up your things."

“Thank you again. I would have been killed soon, I am sure of it"

Ijust nodded at her and turned to leave. I opened the door and found that Mac had made his way down here. When the doo was opened, he pointed his head in the air and started to sniff.

“Mac, what are you doing?”

His eyes turned black and he walked into Aubree's room. This might not be good. I turned and followed them back in. Mac was trying to hold her and she looked terrified.

“Mac, back off now” I yelled at him.

“She is my mate. I will not back off”

“Mac, right now,” I growled at him and put my Alpha command behind him. He finally stepped back and bared his neck in submission.

“Aubree, he will not hurt you I can promise you that."

“I'am sorry I can't right now. I need time. I need space.” She said, looking at him.

“I will wait for you.” He said, but it looked like it was killing him to say that. He left the room and Colter followed him out. “Aubree, he means that when he says he will wait for you. Mac is a good guy. He will never hurt you. He is the Beta for Alpha Colter”

“That's your mate, right?"

“Yes.

“Tell him I am sorry, but I can't do this right now. I am a mess.”

“He will understand I promise. When you're ready he will be waiting”

I left her room and went back out into the hallway where I saw Colter trying to calm down Mac who was punching a wall. “Hey, you need to calm down. If she walks out here and sees you acting like that it will make her not trust you.” He finally stopped but was breathing hard and you could see he was fighting his wolf for control.

“We need to get going, I want to be ahead of everyone else,” Colter said.

“I am not leaving without her. She will come with us”

“That's fine but only if she agrees to it,” Colter said.

“I will go talk to her" I said.

I knocked on the door and went back in.

“Aubree, we will be leaving soon and Mac would like it if you rode with us. I do believe that it will just be the four of us and we can make the drive and we can be in the back”

“That's fine. Can someone bring me clothes?”

“Yes, I will have someone bring you something. We are going to go finish packing the car and then we will be back for you!” I left her room after that and Mac seemed to calm down some.

“Boys, you will be driving and Aubree and I will ride in the back. Now can we please go finish loading the car so we can leave?”

I started to walk away and they followed me. Colter grabbed my hand. We finished loading the car up with my stuff and let Liam and Sloane know we were leaving and went back to the hospital to get Aubree. We got there and I knocked and went in She was sitting up on the bed and looked like she had just taken a shower as her hair was wet, but she was ready to go. “You ready for this?"

“Yes, but please know I need space from men right now.”

I knew what she meant and so I sent Mac a mind link. “Mac, please give her space. Don't try to hold her hand or touch her please”

“Alexa, how are you mind linking me?”

“I can mind link anyone now. I am not sure I haven't figured it out yet either”

He didn’t answer me but I grabbed her hand and we left the hospital. We made it to the car with Mac behaving himself. He opened the back door for her and I could see it was literally killing him not to be able to touch her. Colter had opened the door for me but he leaned in and kissed my cheek before I got in. The boys piled in and we took off.

“Princess, I am so excited to have you move into my space. I think we need to break in every spot of my room.” He mind- linked me.

“I think we also need to break in your office,” I replied back. I could see the smile growing on his face.

The drive was quick, only taking about an hour. It was pretty silent the whole drive there. Aubree had fallen asleep. When we pulled in, there were people lined up on the porch to welcome us and I could see people setting up white tents in the yard. I “gently woke Aubree up.

“It looks like the whole pack is here, so don't be alarmed.”

I stepped out and so did Colter and the whole pack cheered when they saw him. He got a big smile on his face.

“Come on princess, our pack wants to say hello.”

“Thank you everyone for this warm greeting. I also want to thank you for working so hard to welcome our new members. As you all know, this is your new Luna. Please welcome Luna Alexa” Colter said to all of them.

“OK, let's get back to work as the rest of the pack will be here in two hours!” He said.

They all left the porch and I saw Aubree get out of the car. She looked terrified. I walked over to her.

“Come on Aubree, let's find you a room,” I said, looking at Colter.

“She can have a room on my floor,” Mac said.

I looked at her to see if she was OK with that and she just nodded that it was fine.

“OK, Mac, why don't you show us to her room?”

We all headed up the stairs when a cute blonde bounced down the stairs.

“You guys are back!” She yelled. She didn't look to be over the age of sixteen.

“Hi Mia, yes we're back,” Mac said. She came over and gave both of them a hug.

“Hi, I am Alexa," I said, sticking my hand out to her, really curious about who this girl was.

“Hi, I'm Mia. I am Mac's sister.”

That made sense. They did look similar, and she was coming down from their floor. I could see Aubree's eyes soften a little when she heard that it was his sister. The mate bond must be affecting her if she was feeling some jealousy.
