Sarah Williams – POV 

Even though my mind kept ringing warning bells, telling me not to commit the mistake that happened a couple of days back, deep within my heart, I never regretted that passionate night that I spend with my mate. I was not forced to sleep with him, it was my own will, and I know that given the circumstances that we are in and now that I know what he 

was thinking about me, I might willingly sleep with him again. if he so asks me to do so. 

“I don’t know what you are talking about, beta Alan,” I mumbled with a slight smirk on my face, and this made him even more aggravated, but then suddenly, a malicious smirk took over his perfect features. He took slow and steady steps towards me till there was only a hairline gap between us. I know that my eye color must have changed by now. My hands were itching to touch my mate’s toned chest, which was radiating warmth. His eyes slowly moved from mine to my lips, and my mouth became instantly dry, without wasting any more time, he placed his plum lips on mine in a much- needed kiss which made a needy moan escape my lips. 

Fireworks erupted between us like the fourth of July, and for a moment, I closed my eyes and savored the feeling and taste of his lips. The kiss was soon broken, but this time, I noticed that he had no regret swirling in his eyes. “Let’s get going.” was all he said, and started walking ahead, and I followed him like a lost puppy. 

We soon came to a stop in front of his house door. “Why are we here?” I asked him when he took out his house keys and

“Till Noah returns, you will be staying at my place,” he said and pushed open the door, and entered the house. I was shocked, but soon a smile graced my face knowing that he would not like to see me getting hurt after that letter that he received. 

“Beta! Wait up!” I yelled and soon entered the house and closed the door behind me. I walked through the hallway till I entered the kitchen, where beta Zachary was standing in front of the fridge with his back facing me. “Where am I going to sleep?” I asked him when I walked in further, and beta Alan turned around with a glass filled with what looks like whiskey. 

“You can take the guest bedroom next to mine,” he said nonchalantly, and I nodded my head and skipped my way outside, and made my way upstairs. There were only three doors upstairs, and I came to a halt in front of the last door that was opposite his room, I pushed open the door. This room was small compared to his, I closed my eyes and inhaled. the heavenly smell of sea salt and pineapples that was faint, but it was enough to calm my senses. 

I gently closed the door behind me and made my way to the bed, and just before I plopped down, I noticed a suitcase placed in the far corner, it looked like mine. I quickly made my way to it and when I opened it to see that it was filled with all my clothes and even my phone was placed on top. My cheeks heated up, and I felt a warmth surround my heart, knowing that Zacahry is the person who packed my clothes.

“I am doing much better, mum. How are you?” I asked her, and I can hear the enthusiasm in my voice. Well, if someone saw everything that happened to me in these past twenty–four hours, they would think that I have gone mad, but even though I still have not completely recovered from my fright, my mood has improved after hearing Zachary’s thoughts. 

“I am all right, cupcake. But I have some good news that I want to share with you,” she said. 

“Alpha Vanguard has changed a lot, Sarah. He stopped by my place earlier and told me that he realized that it was a mistake to reject you, but now he understands and supports your decision. And he is going to get married to Rosemary as he planned to do so.” my mom said with glee, even though I should be delighted that Carmen has decided to let me go, my heart didn’t want to believe it. Carmen is not a person to take rejection easily, and he always keeps his promise. 

“That’s great news, mom. So, when are they getting married?” 

I asked her. 

“In three weeks. But there is an announcement party in three days, and he expects you to come here,” she said in a cautious voice, and I know that she was afraid that I might oppose the idea. Mom has always been a naive person but with a heart of gold. She would easily forgive and trust anyone, and that was the reason why when dad left us with only a note saying that he is going to live with his beloved, mom let him go, wishing that they would be living happily ever after. “And, I would also like to see my baby girl again, Sarah,” she mumbled, but I know that her eyes must be watery now, and she must be biting her lips to prevent her cries.

“I will come there for you, mom,” I reassured and I heard her sigh. 

“Okay baby, I will call you again soon,” she said, and we soon disconnect the call. As soon as the line was cut, my phone chimed, and I got an email from the silver moon pack. I opened the attachment to that email to see that it was an invitation to the Alpha’s announcement party. 

“Sarah, I don’t think this is the right decision,” Jane murmured in my head, I know that she was right, but I think, I can handle what would come my way. 

“We would be fine as long as we have each other, Jane,” I reassured her and myself.
