“Mom, I…I found my second chance mate.” I spat out, and the phone line was silent, I was only able to hear my mother’ s breathing.

“That, that is great, Sarah. So, why are you upset about that?” she asked me cautiously, already sensing my reply, my eyes glistened with tears, and I choked out my reply.

“He indirectly rejected me as his mate, mom. But I would have at least tolerated it if he only insulted me, but he insulted both you and dad.” I told her, and I heard her gasp.

“Well, good for you,” he replied, and he handed me my top, when I was about to wear that, I noticed Beta Alan approaching us from the corner of my eye, and my wolf and I thought of an instant plan that we would both regret later. I moved closer to Noah and wrapped my arms around his neck, and gave him a small peck on his cheek that made him gasp, his body instantly stiffened, and I looked behind me to see Beta Alan stopped in his track and his eyes had a murderous look in them.

“If he doesn’t give me the keys, I will take it myself,” I told her, with some sass, she snorted, I soon cut off her link and made my way to his office. I stopped in front of his door and knocked twice and waited till he speaks.

“Come in.” I heard his faint voice, and after adjusting my dress, I made my way inside. The moment he saw me, his face turned into a scowl, and he dropped all his work and pushed a paper my way. I looked at him for a couple of minutes before I slowly took the paper in my hand and read it. Once I had gone through the entire content, I was fuming in anger. How dare he do this to me?

“Beta Alan, you have no right to do this to me,” I said, and he leaned back in his chair and gave me his signature smirk.

“Miss.Williams, I am the beta in this pack, and I am responsible for all the pack members who are living here. And also, I decide what everyone should be doing,” he said, and I shook my head and placed the paper back on his desk.
