Chp 11

Chapter 11:

It’s been a few days since the fight and as I am sitting on the couch an idea pops into my head as Lavender got comfortable on the other couch, without hesitation I jump up from my seat and drag Sebastian by the shoulder and run out of the house. When i get to the door he starts saying something about his lunch and I reassure him we will grab something while we’re out. By the time we get to the salon I am out of breath from running all the way there, I make my way to the desk still holding Sebastian by the wrist and make an appointment. We sit down to wait and Sebastian just looks so confused, I start excitedly talking to him “I am getting all this long black hair cutoff then I am going to dye it!” his eyes are huge and he just stares at me stuttering. I whisper over to him “if it’s shorter we can go flying more often” with that his mouth shuts and he grows a smile. My turn has come and I sit in the salon chair while the lady starts chopping off locks of hair, my head instantly feels lighter. Now was the time to pick my color, I asked Sebastian but he didn’t seem to care. I ended up choosing white with a blue ombre at the bottom, when I come back to the waiting room I walk up to Sebastian who had fallen asleep. I wake him up by slapping his shoulder and that seems to do the job. When he looks up at me he looks like he was having a heart attack or something, he scrambled to stand up from his chair and twirled his finger in my curly hair. I jerk my head back and blush but he doesn’t seem to care, we take our leave and head towards the mall but for some reason Sebastian grabs my hand and stops. I turn to him and he suddenly says “I can’t let you go in there” I gawk at his words and he continues “If anyone hits on you I won’t be able to take it” my face is tomato red and I wiggle my hand free. I start walking to the mall without him thinking he will follow, when I turn around he is gone. I roll my eyes and walk into the mall headed straight to the food court, I will get Sebastian a couple taquitos because he seems to enjoy those. Next I buy a huge cinnamon bun and sit in the eating area with some tables and chairs. I am watching people go by as I eat my cinnamon roll, It feels like there is a group of people behind me but i really don’t want to look so I just listen in on their conversation “Hey Isn’t she kinda cute?” I feel my face grow hot and they continue talking “you should so go talk to her” at that point i didn’t know what to do “nah man, look over there. That guy has his eye on her too, maybe he’s thinking of talking to her” after that I look around and see Jax standing on the other side of the food court looking at me “Okay, i’m going to go for it before him” after a few seconds and man in a suit walks up to my table. I was not expecting that! The man has dark blue hair and a very handsome face, it caught me off guard and he started to talk to me “excuse me miss, I was wondering if I could sit with you for a bit?” I nod my head and he sits across from me. I continue eating my bun, He just watches me and starts talking “sorry for the late introduction my name’s Eric, and you?” I swallow my bite of food and tell him my name is Max Kokio. Eric grabbed something from a bag he was carrying and pulled it to his mouth when he takes it away he had a reb jelly mustache. I giggle a little bit and we both smile, I speak up to tell him but he wipes it away with a napkin. I look at him and start chatting “I came here for some food, so what are you here for?” he turns his face away and says “my little sister’s birthday is coming up so I am trying to find her a gift, got any good ideas?” i think about it for a minute and ask how old she is “she is about fifteen, I don’t see her often so i am not sure what she likes”. I continue thinking and then it hits me “what does she wear when you see her?” he looks a little off put but speaks up “she is always wearing some kind of shirt with a little cartoon ghost and frog” When he says that my eyes start to sparkle. I tell him I know exactly what he needs and we finish our pastries, When I stand up he looks at his watch and sighs “if you have to leave soon the store is right over there! I would really like to show you” he nods and we head off to the game store. When we walk in he looks very uncomfortable, I head over to the merchandise section and spot a keychain for “froggo and ghosty” I pick it up and as I am about to head back to him I see a little friends plush set. I set down the keychain and pick up the plushies, before I know it I am standing in front of Eric explaining that her shirt was from this game and what all the characters are. I completely forgot he was on a time limit “Oh my gosh i’m so sorry I took up too much time! Anyway I think your sister would love to have one of these and you could keep the other! Whenever she sees it she’ll think of you!” he laughs and waves his hand as if saying it’s okay. I start walking out of the shop with a smile but I accidentally bump into someone “oof, oh gosh I’m so sorry sir” I look up and see Jax “oh! Hey Jax!” Jax just looks at me like i’m a stranger “uh Jax?” he glares at me and says “do i know you?” I couldn’t help but be offended so I slap him on the shoulder and say “yeah it’s me Max you scum bag of a friend!” I stomped away in a depressed rage. I went back to the food court and ordered a cup of coffee, while I am putting some sugar in it somebody comes up from behind me. I turn around with a pouting face but once I see it was Eric a smile comes to my face “what are you doing here?” he looks at me weird and says “your face changes quickly, huh” after he says that I turn around back to my coffee and take a sip. Next thing I know he stands next to me and says “I heard what happened with your… uh… friend?” I start to pout again and start telling him that I just changed my appearance drastically. When I was done he understood and nodded. I assumed he needed to leave so I made a excuse “hey, sorry I’ve got to take these taquitos to a friend of mine. See ya!” I take me leave and step out onto the sidewalk. While I am on my way home I get a bad feeling and start to walk faster than before. I finally reach my apartment and burst through the door “i’m hoooome!” Lavender just smiles at me and that’s when Sebastian came out of the hallway bathroom. I walk with pride now that i’ve got a new hair style and that’s when I decide to give detective Jack a call “um, hello? Jack it’s Max” on the other line I hear a gagging sound then Jack starts to speak “Hey! I thought you were never going to call! It’s been a while what’s up?” I start talking to him about my new friend I just made and that i’ve got my own apartment then we talk about Sebastian. As soon as I say “yeah Sebastian is doing good! He is very healthy and his feathers have been silky smooth too” Sebastian walks up to me and puts his face to my phone. I successfully resist the urge to comment and continue talking to Jack. We agree on a day to go out together and I hang up the phone. Sebastian is looking at me with sass and says “so you made a new friend, your going on a date with Jack AND your not going to give me those tasty taquitos?” i throw the taquitos at him and walk into my room. When I plop on my bed I start thinking about Eric, before I know it i’m recalling everything that went down. I feel my cheeks get hot and I start thinking to myself “I knew it, i’ve got my first crush! This is awesome!” I sigh and take a small nap.
