“Can I expect an answer from you tonight, Mr. Ford?” 

There was a faint smile on Samantha’s face, as she felt the glee of petty revenge in her heart. 

If Kendrick wanted her to submit the design drafts, she would do whatever it takes to submit them. But if he expected her to work overtime, she would make sure that he would be working just as late. 

If he refused to give her an answer tonight, she would submit the drafts tomorrow instead. 

The thought of her retaliating brought a smile to his l*ps. 

“Sure,” Kendrick uttered calmly. 

He ended the call.

She couldn’t be bothered to think it through. Regardless, Kendrick was the president of the company, and she was the head of the design department. Naturally, she had to obey him.

Her hand tightened its grip on the receiver until her knuckles turned white. 

Time ticked by. Samantha spent her time at her desk, working on the design drafts.

Looking at the unfinished design drafts, Samantha called Francis. 

“Hello, Francis…” 

As soon as the call went through, Francis‘ casual voice rang out. 

“What’s the matter? Missing me already?” 

Samantha couldn’t help but roll her eyes. She had gotten used to Francis‘ jokes over the last four years.

“Kendrick is such a cruel man. You’ve just started work, but he’s already telling you to work overtime… Should I have someone deal with him?” 

Francis couldn’t help but complain about Kendrick. But then, he spoke as though he was boasting. 

Francis was the leader of the biggest underground organization in Sentius City. He was indeed quite powerful. But Francis never crossed paths with Kendrick. Of course, Samantha didn’t want Francis to get into a conflict with Kendrick. 

“Just help me take care of Nathan, please…“.
