A week had passed since Samantha became Kendrick’s secretary.
Every day, Kendrick would order her to either make him coffee, buy him lunch, or tidy up his work desk.
Other than that, he didn’t arrange any other work for her.
Most of the time, Samantha was rather relaxed and free.
Sometimes, she’d do some designing or surf the internet just to pass the time.
Kendrick was indeed very busy. Most of his time was spent outside of the office. Hence, Samantha was also joyfully unrestricted.
Just like the past few days, Samantha tidied Kendrick’s desk and made him a cup of coffee. He arrived on time.
The only difference today was that he had company. It was Linda, whom she hadn’t seen for a few days.
After the last time she intimidated her, she seemed to have quietened down for a few days.
She followed Kendrick into the office.
She quickly spotted Samantha, who was sipping on her coffee leisurely as she sat at the office desk.
She turned green with
envy.
As much as she had her apprehensions about the woman in front of her, she had absolutely no respect for her at all.
Linda looked away proudly. She clung to Kendrick’s arms assertively.
“What do you plan to have me work on, Kenny?”
Kendrick felt troubled, too. At times, he really had no idea what to do with his mentor’s daughter.
She had been having fun these few years. For some reason, she suddenly wanted to come to work at his company this time around.
It was his mentor who personally made the request. He couldn’t bear to say no.
After all, his mentor was right. Linda was already over 20 years old. It was about time for her to get a proper job instead of wasting her days away having fun.

“What would you like to work on?” Kendrick removed his coat as he walked to his own desk.
He felt a little better when he saw the cup of coffee that Samantha had prepared earlier. He picked it up and took a sip.
Linda’s eyes glimmered when she heard Kendrick asking about her own wishes.
She rushed in front of him and buttered up to him.
“I would like to be your secretary, just like Ms. Meadows,” she said.
“The work of a secretary is quite tedious. Plus, I heard that Ms. Meadows is double -hatting as the head of the design department.
“She must be having a lot on her plate. So, let both of us help you, alright?”
Kendrick turned to look at Samantha. However, she was staring right at the computer in front of her.
She looked as if she didn’t have any preferences, nor was she paying any attention to what was happening on the other side of the room.
She was unwilling to be his secretary in the first place. So, Kendrick figured that she probably wouldn’t mind.
After some quiet deliberation, Kendrick nodded in agreement.
Other than the role of a secretary, there didn’t seem to be any other roles that were suitable for Linda.
She was quite a sensible woman anyway.
After dealing with Linda, Kendrick made a call to Jude. He said to him, “Please prepare a desk for Ms. Linda outside my office.”
At first, Linda was overjoyed that she had gotten Kendrick’s agreement for her to be his secretary. She was pleased and wanted to show off to Samantha.
However, in the next second, Kendrick made her hit rock bottom.
“Why is she allowed to be in your office, but for me, I have to be seated outside?”
The secretary’s seat should have been outside the president’s office in the first place.
Kendrick had set up Samantha’s seat to be inside his office because he wanted to put her in a tight spot initially.
But he certainly could not say such a thing out loud.

“It is not practical to set up too many desks in my office anyway.”
