She was different, better than I had expected. 

At first, I thought she was going to be like other ladies who fell at men’s feet and worshiped them just because of money and when I heard that she was pregnant, I took her for a complete whore. 

But I was wrong. 

She wasn’t any of that, she was different. 

When I heard her crying in her room, talking to her mate on the phone, I was slightly disappointed at her. That was why I lashed out at her, scolding her for doing that. 

She was obsessed with him, no doubt, but her reasons were clear enough. I just wanted her to value herself 

more than that dickhead who doesn’t see her worth. 

But I ended up reasoning with her after hearing her out. Even though she didn’t explain everything to me in full, I could still feel her pain. 

When she asked why I was helping a commoner like her, I thought so hard about what to say as I couldn’t tell her that I had a crush on her. So, I just lied that I was intrigued by her, which wasn’t a lie though, but not all part of 

the story. 

Speaking informally was her choice and not mine, but damn! Her laughter was so melodious, creating a lot of 

warmth inside of me. 

“You say you live here with other people, right?” She asked, bringing me out of my thoughts and I nodded, wondering why she was asking. 

“Both the Beta and Gamma, “I responded. 

Then, why haven’t I seen them at all?” She asked again. 

They are out for a business trip. I didn’t see any need to go with them since I won’t be needed there. They should be back today, I suppose,” I answered, smiling softly.

“What are they like? Your Beta and Gamma?“. 

Hmm……. My Beta is nice, although he can be cold sometimes. He doesn’t smile at strangers, so you might find it a bit difficult to get used to him. But he isn’t mean as he comes out to be,” I assured her. 

“As for the Gamma, he is immature and has so much to learn. He might come out as annoying, but you’ll get to love him as soon as you get used to his ways. There isn’t anything special though, the both of them practically hate each other guys and that’s why I sent them on the trip, “I confessed and she giggled. 

None of you seem sane,” she suddenly said and I furrowed my brows, wondering why she said that. 

‘Why? I believe I’m the most sane person among the three of us, “I defended, but she shook my head. 

I couldn’t agree less. I bet the other two don’t think the same way you do, because it is very obvious that you are a crazy person,” she stated and I erupted into laughter. 

What makes you say that? We barely know each other,” I pouted, slightly offended by her choice of words. 

“It’s very obvious. You seem soft and try to act cool and calm like an Alpha should, but when you get to a place where you find comfortable to be in, you let your guard down and behave completely opposite from who you claim to be. That’s your crazy side,” she expounded and my eyes widened in surprise. 

How do you know? Are you a mind reader?” I asked and she snorted. 

“If I was, then I would be making tons of money from that. Unfortunately, I only guessed because of your personality,” she explained. 

“What’s my personality like?” I asked, wanting to act inquisitive like her. 

Do you want me to start explaining? ‘cause trust me, you would chase me out of your house by the time I’m done,” she assured and I sneered at her, gesturing for her not to worry about telling me, only for her to burst into laughter. 

“You were just joking, right?” I asked and she stuck out her tongue at me. I totally fell for her tricks, obviously she had nothing to tell me since we didn’t know each other well. 

I me.” “You know what?” I asked after a moment of comfortable silence and raised her head to look at me. “I think your mate made a very big mistake by letting you go, “I told her. I knew I wasn’t supposed to be saying that, but 

I said it nonetheless.

“I don’t know why he rejected you, but whatever reason it may be, I don’t think it was worth abandoning you for. He should have held onto you more, he should have protected you, rather betraying the trust and love you had for him,” I explained. 

But I was grateful to him for doing that. At least, she ended up in my arms where she and her babies were going to be cherished and adored. She was going to make a good Luna, regardless of the fact that she had no wolf. 

“I wasn’t expecting that from you,” she stated and I couldn’t help but agree with her. 

“I wasn’t expecting that from myself either,” I mumbled under my breath, taking in a sharp breath. 

“Yo man, what are you doing outside here?” I heard David’s voice and I averted my gaze from Jane, turning to look at them as a smile formed on my lips. 

“I wasn’t expecting you guys to be back so soon, “I pointed out. 

“It ended earlier than expected and we decided to come home immediately because that dude said he had something urgent to take care of,” he pointed at the Beta and I turned to look at him, trying to bring out the luggages.

Stanley?” She called out and he creased his brows. Did they know each other? 

Jane?” He asked, confirming my suspicions and I scoffed in annoyance.

You know my Beta?” I asked her and she turned abruptly to me. 

“Your Beta?” She asked, her eyes widened in surprise.
