Ch 6

Tarnac pov

I look at Torad telling him to hold down the pack. They wont do anything to the pack since they only want her. He nods his head and I grab her hand running for the back secret exit. I take a turn halfway down the stairs to go out the back of the pack house. When we exit I see guards scrambling everywhere fighting when I shift and she jumps on my back. I go running as fast as I can the way she is pointing when I see some guards turning with red eyes and give chase after us. I mind link everyone that Torad is in charge because I have to keep the Luna safe. Just stay in your homes because they are only after her.

I run full speed ahead and ask Trinity where we are headed to exactly. She points in front of us and I see a beam of light shooting into the sky. I think really everyone is going to see that.

“Only us two can see it. We need to get there and the guards will let us in.”

“Where the hell are we going?”

“You’ll see.”

So I push myself harder and faster. Thank goodness we train for these marathon runs. Who knows why we decided to train like this, but now I know why! I run for what seems like hours as the light gets closer and closer, and the moment I feel like I’m slowing down I know I can’t stop. I can hear noises in the distance so I know we’re being followed. I know that if I stop Antar will collapse and then what? So I keep running putting every ounce of energy I have into it and the closer we get the more I push myself.

We come onto a path where I can see a clear shot. I see the beam coming out of a mountain, and when we approach I see a bright light coming from my back and see Trinity emitting a glow. I see the guards start emitting a glow also when they open the doors, and we run straight inside into a hallway. With a door at the end of the hallway with lights on. I can hear the doors shut quickly behind us and lock when I bolt straight for the inner door.

When I bust through I see a table with a bunch of people sitting around. She quickly jumps down when I shift and collapse onto the ground. A bunch of men run over quickly helping me while Trinity stands there and starts crying. I see some girls come and comfort her while the guys help me get some shorts on and I see a elderly man in a cloak come over and put his hands on me.

I instantly feel calm and relaxed although I’m fucking exhausted. The guys help me up to a chair to sit in when Trinity climbs in my lap sitting at the table. Everyone sits back down and food is quickly brought out when I just shake my head no. I can’t even think about eating right now.

“Listen man, you need to eat. I’m Jameson, that’s Luther there and he’s Romney. We are all Alphas from the North of you. You will need the energy and fuel.”

I don’t even argue and start slowly eating. I just observe everyone talking and notice every Alpha that is sitting around the table has a very tiny mate sitting on their lap. I’m noticing that all the girls act alike although different in their own way. All of them are so excited to finally see Trinity, and I’m confused by all of this so I decide to ask the Alpha next to me.

“Hey Jameson, maybe you can catch me up on all of this. What exactly is going on?”

“Ok, so condensed version. This is an emergency meeting because the last peice of this circle has been birthed if you will. Your mate. So now that she is here the meeting should get under way shortly on how we will deal with the evil coming after the Moon Goddess and the Gods.”

I just stare in shock when he pushes a drink towards me. I just stare at him and at the drink.

“It’s whiskey. Believe me you need it right now. I was the same was when we came here the first time.”

I grab it and slam it down when he starts laughing, well in fact they’re all laughing. I just let out a sigh when Trinity sits up quickly checking me over to make sure I’m ok. When she stops and looks at me her ice blue eyes have turned white. I look at all the other girls and theirs are white also. I look at Jameson in shock when he just mouths it’s ok.

“This is the only place they can be themselves. Outside of here they have to hide who they are. People don’t understand and would freak out outside of here. Kind of like how you are right now. You don’t understand who you are mated to, do you?”

“Look, I knew she was special when I saw her white wolf. I wanted her as a choice mate, but ended up being her second chance mate. I’m now wondering about what I’ve got myself into.”

The moment I got done saying that, everyone stopped and just stared at me. All conversations stopped and got so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I see all the girls get misty eyed looking at Trinity when she just hangs her head.

“You were fucking chosen by the gods to be her mate! Her first mate obviously wasn’t going to work out to protect her so they went with the person who wanted to. Yet you doubt their decision? What did her first mate do to get removed from the job?”

“He attacked her and almost killed her.”

The gasps and growls that erupted in that room were deafening. I see the girls start crying and quickly turn to their mates when they’re quickly comforted. I just look around the room when I turn to Jameson.

“You have no clue the job you have been tasked with do you. These girls are not just any girls. They are the keepers of every aspect of life as we know it. Each one has a special job they are tasked with keeping tabs on and keeping it balanced if you will. The last aspect that needed to be in check was life itself. That’s what your mate is in charge of. Now do you understand why they wanted her dead? If they succeeded with her being dead then the circle couldn’t be completed and all life would fall. Everything we know as it is now would be destroyed.”

I just stare in disbelief when I grab Trinity holding her to my chest. I just inhaled her scent and thought to myself how crazy this situation is. When I was told she was special I thought ok no big deal. I didn’t realize the keeper of life fucking special. I go to say something to Jameson when four men in white robes show up with the Moon Goddess. She looks directly at me and smiles when the girls start getting excited to see them. I watch the Moon Goddess climb onto the center of the table while the four gods spread around all of us.

“Don’t freak out.”

I look at Jameson when I see the Moon Goddess call for the girls and they all scramble onto the table to stand around her. It’s almost like Trinity knows what her job is when they encircle the Moon Goddess facing their mates and link their arms with each other. We hear the girls start mumbling while the gods behind us start chanting. I see them all start glowing when sirens start going off. Jameson grabs me and I run with the other men to the entrance when I see the guards on this side.

We all strip and shift standing guard when the door is getting banged on by something hard. I just stare at Jameson when I feel his mind link to me.

“It’s Baphomet. He wants to take over the living world by having everything fall. He is after your mate. I bet he turned her mate and figured that would be the easiest way to take her out.”

I just stare in shock when we see the steel door start to buckle. We also slowly back up when one final blow opens it and we see this thing come into view baring his teeth at everyone. I’ve never seen something so fucking ugly in my life. He has horns that stick out and is built like us but almost twice our size. He barrels straight at us when we charge back and clash right there in the hallway. We are tearing into him with our teeth and claws when he is doing the same to us. I try to use every ounce of energy I can when I feel him catch my side and instantly feel pain with warm liquid falling down. I’m so focused on this beast that I didn’t even notice the chanting getting louder until I heard the doors behind us slam open.

A bright light shoots out down the hall and all of us instantly fall to the ground the moment the light hits this Baphomet guy. He growls loudly and runs off into the night. The light gets low when the girls come running off the table to be next to their mates. Trinity runs up to me and sees my side bleeding when I watch her place her hands over my wound.

She slowly chants when I watch the bleeding stop and the wound heal itself. I slowly sit up against the side of the hall when I just grab her pulling her to me. My goddess, what kind of mate do I even have? One that heals and fights evil? I just hold her while she cries in my lap when the Gods and Moon Goddess step forward.

“He will be back for Trinity, and will use any means possible to get to her. Including using members of your own pack against you. You must weed out those who are traitors and have the Luna ceremony to lock in her position. Those that are working for Baphomet will do whatever they can to prevent it. They do not want her as a Luna so they will try to keep her out of the position.”

“How am I supposed to keep Trinity safe to get through this Luna ceremony? They are usually done in front of the whole pack?”

“She has body guards to make sure the ceremony takes place, but weed them out first.”

I see all the girls stand up holding hands when I just look over at their mates. They all look at each other and all I hear is “Road Trip!” I just chuckle when I look back towards the Gods.

“Her new friends will also help her weed out the traitors. Although once they all show up you can bet they will try to get to her and make themselves known.”

I nod my head and try to stand up but I’m barely holding myself up with the wall.

“Trinity I don’t know if I can run back right now.”

“That’s ok we’ll take the cars.”

I just look at Jameson when he just laughs.

“It’s your first time. You’ll find out it’s easier to drive once you know what route to take. So always have a car ready in case we need to get back here.”

“Ok, that is definitely noted, and now we’re all heading to my pack?”

We all walk out to the cars and start heading in the direction of my pack when I try to mind link with Torad.

‘How is everything?’

‘The chaos has gotten quiet. Everyone is in their houses although we did arrest some because they went crazy when you two left and they tried to run after. Their families locked them out because they were not acting like themselves. Those few are down in the dungeon and some pack members ran and just never came back. Although I think there are some traitors still mixed in.’

‘We will find them and weed them out. The moment it’s done we need to do the Luna ceremony.’
