Chapter 13~Leaving

“I’m proud of you.” Mateo said wrapping his arms around my waist and putting his head on my shoulder.I smiled a little but I couldn’t stop the tears that filled my eyes.I took a deep breath and turned to face Mateo.

“He won’t forget me right?” I said softly as my tears started to run freely down my cheeks.

“Forget you?You aren’t exactly forgettable piccolo.He loves you and you’re prepared to sacrifice the love you have for him just so he can be happy-he’ll never forget you.” Mateo said taking my face in his hands.I smiled sadly and he wiped the tears from my cheeks before taking my hand.

“He’s ready.” He said before we started to walk towards the cottage.The Doctor gave me a warm smile as he noticed me and gestured for me to follow him.I gently kissed Mateo’s cheek and let his hand go before following after the Doctor.

“So do you have a name or what?” I asked as we walked down a hallway.

“My name is The Doctor.” He said without turning to look at me.

“So your first name is The.” I giggled.He turned to face me with a straight face and I swallowed back the rest of my laughter and gave him a sheepish smile.

“Sorry.” I said softly.He ignored me and walked up to a door and knocked on it three times.It opened on it’s own and I cocked an eyebrow as I looked between him and the door.He ignored my look and walked inside leaving me to follow after him.I took a deep breath before walking inside the room.It looked like a hospital room just dark instead of lit.I stepped further in and turned to face him.He gestured towards the bed and I frowned but sat down.I watched him closely as he walked up to me with a needle.

“What is that for?” I asked inching away from him.

“I need some of her blood and because she isn’t here I need the second best thing.” He said stopping in front of me.I looked at him warily before nodding my head.He stuck the needle in my arm and gave me a confused look when he noticed I didn’t flinch.

“My pain intolerance is higher than you would think.” I said looking at the needle.He filled it halfway before pulling it out of my arm and walking to a desk that was set by the door.He started doing something but I couldn’t see what he was doing.He turned around to face me holding a vial that had a creme colored substance in it and I jumped off of the bed. “I fear you may be too late.” He said softly.

“What?” I asked, confusion lacing my voice.

“You may be too late to save her.” He said taking my hand and putting the vial in it.I shook my head as my eyes filled with tears.

“Your wrong.” I said making my voice crack.He pursed his lips together and shrugged.

“Maybe.” He said softly.He walked up to the desk again and turned around with another vial.

“I overheard that you didn’t have a way to get back.” He said giving me the second vial.It contents were midnight black but there were white dots coated in it like staring up at the sky at night.

“Thank you.” I mumbled wiping the tears from my cheeks.He gave me a small smile and walked up to the door before opening it.He walked out and I slowly followed behind him as I lost myself in my thoughts.

‘Was he right?Was I too late?’ The thought of my grandma dying was too much to bare.I shook the thought out of my head just as we entered the room where the others were waiting for us.The door flew open and Alex and Kim walked inside panting heavily.

“She-they found us.” Alex said breathing heavily.We didn’t need any more explanation we knew exactly who ‘they’ were.I was just hoping we’d be able to leave without having to have contact with either of them again.I looked between the two of them and it was obvious from Alex’s messy hair what they were doing before.Kim followed my gaze and blushed as she noticed Alex’s hair.She whispered something to Alex and he shut his eyes tightly before running his fingers through his hair.He opened his eyes and they met mine.He opened his mouth to say something and I turned to face The Doctor.

“I know I’m asking for a lot but-”

“Follow me.” He said cutting me off.I released a breath of relief and started following him when a hand grabbed my arm.I slowly looked up the arm into Alex’s face and he let my arm go.I turned to face him while the others walked away leaving me, Alex and Kim.Kim avoided my gaze and stared at the ground.

“What?” I asked, looking between the two of them.

“Um are-are you okay?” He asked, frowning like he couldn’t get the right words out.

“Peachy.” I said smiling and turning away from him.

“Nix.” He said, making me stop.

“Fine Alex I’m hurt,okay?I’m hurt but I know I don’t get to be hurt because I pushed the two of you together.I’m happy for the both of you but that doesn’t stop it from hurting.But I know that if you leave her to be with me because you think that’s what you’re supposed to do instead of following your heart I’d be pissed because she’s nice and you’re nice and everything is fucking nice and nice things belong with other nice things.” I said taking a deep breath.I closed my eyes as I bit back tears and opened them when I heard clapping.I frowned and turned around ignoring Alex and Kim and my eyes met Maleficent’s.Jocelyn was standing besides her with a smirk and my book in her hand.
