Chapter 14~Fighting

“You have got to be kidding me.” I scoffed under my breath.I walked outside and looked between the both of them before letting my eyes stop on Maleficent.

“We’re leaving, we don’t need to fight.” I said crossing my arms over my chest.She threw her head back as she laughed.She looked back at me and her smile dropped.

“We aren’t going to fight.I’m going to kill you.” She said smirking.She tilted her head and her smirk faltered slightly as she looked behind me.I turned to follow her gaze and watched as Peter stepped outside.He walked to my side and wrapped his arm around me.I turned in time to see Maleficent’s jaw tighten.I heard footsteps behind me and I knew it was the others.She looked back at me and picked her staff up before hitting it against the ground gently.I watched as hundreds of knights appeared behind her and I scoffed.

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” I said rolling my eyes.

“Potty mouth.” She said tsking.I rolled my eyes at her and slowly looked the crowd over.

“This is supposed to get your wolf back for you.” Mateo whispered in my ear before I felt a pinch in my arm.

′FINAL-FUCKING-LY.DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I’VE BEEN TRYING TO GET IN CONTACT WITH YOU?I’VE WATCHED YOU MAKE STUPID CHOICE AFTER STUPID CHOICE.YOU COULD’VE WOKEN UP EARLIER FROM THAT STUPID DREAM AND YOU COULD’VE KNOWN JOCELYN WAS GOING TO SWITCH SIDES.′ My wolf screamed in my head.I moaned in pain and grabbed my head in my hands.

’Sorry.’ She said sheepishly.

’I missed you too.’ I said with a small smile.I looked back at Maleficent as she watched me curiously.Without saying a word we were suddenly surrounded by dirt.I frowned and looked around to see the trees that were once surrounding us were gone now and so was the cottage.It looked like we were in the desert and I bit back an eye roll at the thought.

“How fucking Cliche.” Peter said rolling his eyes.Without another word being said the knights on the right started to charge towards us.I looked at Kim’s friends and they nodded their heads before turning into their wolves.I watched as they swiftly started to take them down.The ones on the left started to run towards us again and I gestured for Lucifer and Peter to go.They both smirked mischievously before taking off and ripping through the knights like they were nothing.Alex and Mateo turned into their wolves besides me and started growling in anticipation but didn’t move.I put my hand on both of their heads and ran my fingers through their fur making them pur and calm down a little.I looked back at Maleficent and took my hands from their head.I heard them growl before running towards Maleficent and Jocelyn.They effortlessly jumped over their heads and landed on some of the knights behind them.Maleficent smirked and put a hand on Jocelyn’s shoulder.I watched as Jocelyn’s eyes changed to the emerald green on Maleficent’s for a second before they changed to a light brown and she began to change into her wolf.Her wolf had brown fur and was the size of an average she-wolf.She slowly started to make her way towards me and I turned into my wolf letting her take full control.

’I LOVE YOU!’ She screamed in my head with excitement.I giggled and sat back as I watched Jocelyn hesitate for a second as she took my wolf in.My wolf growled in annoyance and ran towards her.I watched as they became a ball as they both tried to bite into each other.My wolf froze as a howl broke through the air and I looked over at Mateo.His white fur was coated with blood and I looked down to see a knight stabbed a sword in his arm.I growled angrily and easily tossed Jocelyn to the side before running towards the knight.Before I could come in contact with him I was flung back.I gasped as I came in contact with the ground.My wolf stood and shook it off as she looked over at Maleficent.Her staff was in the air and it was obvious she flung us back.She lifted a hand and the knights stopped.I frowned in confusion and cocked my head to the side as I tried to figure her out.The knights that had already been taken down were up again and I watched as their eyes turned Maleficent’s greens and it was like they suddenly became stronger.I watched as they easily ripped through everybody and my breath hitched in my throat as I fought to move but couldn’t.A painful howl ripped past my lips as I watched the knights surround them with their swords lifted.I took over control as my anger started to grow.

“Let them go.” I growled.She watched me curiously but didn’t make a move.I watched as some of the knights started to make their way towards me.My eyes involuntarily shifted to Mateo and I could tell he was saying goodbye from the look in his eyes.My breathing picked up as I felt tears sting my eyes.Lucifer suddenly let out a pained scream and my eyes made their way over to him.I watched as a knight slowly pulled his sword out of Lucifer’s leg.

′Phoenix save them.′ My wolf pleaded in my head.

′I-I can’t.I’m not strong enough-I can’t.′ I croaked looking at the ground.

′Phoenix of course you are.You’re the granddaughter of the moon goddess for goodness sake.You’ve been fighting since you were 5-if anybody can take pretty princess over there it’s you.If you don’t we’ll lose everybody.” She said softly.

~Third Person POV~

Everybody watched in silence as Phoenix closed her eyes and dropped to her knees just as the knights made a complete circle around her blocking their view of her.Maleficent smirked in victory and looked down at Jocelyn.She gestured for Jocelyn to go check on her and Jocelyn nodded her wolfy head sharply before walking up to the knights.She growled and they made a small opening for her to go through.She growled at Phoenix trying to get her to pick her head up but she didn’t move.Jocelyn barked in annoyance and walked up to Phoenix.Before she could do anything Phoenix’s eyes opened to reveal violet eyes.Lucifer and Peter shared a look as they sensed the power surge coming from her.Jocelyn jumped back a little but she didn’t make it far.Phoenix grabbed her and swiftly snapped her neck before dropping her lifeless body to the ground and turning her attention to the knights surrounding her.They began attacking her and she easily took they down.Maleficent lifted her staff and the rest of the knights began charging towards Phoenix except for the ones still guarding the others.Phoenix smirked mischievously and held out her hand.The knights froze and Maleficent gasped softly.Phoenix looked Maleficent dead in her eyes as she slowly balled her hand into a fist making the knights armor crumble together.She held out her other hand and slowly lifted it up.The knights began floating in the air and Phoenix clapped her hands together bringing them all together in a ball.She closed her hands together and they started mushing together.She let her hands fall to her sides and the giant ball collapsed on the ground.Maleficent started breathing heavily in anger as she took everything in.She screamed in anger and everybody watched wide eyed as she turned into a dragon.She beat her wings lifting herself from the ground and blew fire at Phoenix.Phoenix acted on instinct and wrapped her arms securely around her.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE?” Mateo screamed taking Phoenix in.She opened her eyes and shifted a little as she suddenly felt a weight on her back.She turned her head slightly to see what everybody was looking at and gasped as she realized she had wings and they were on fire but it didn’t burn-it was like they belonged there.She snapped out of her thoughts as she heard a ferocious growl and turned to see Maleficent.She chuckled as she noticed a puff of literal smoke come out her nose.She beat her wings taking her off of the ground and stopping in front of Maleficent.She held her hand out and her sword appeared in her hands.Everybody watched silently as they watched the two fight in the air.Peter couldn’t fight the sudden feeling to be near her that was creeping up on him.He shut his eyes tightly as he reminded himself that she was mated already.He opened his eyes just as a scream filled the air.He watched as Maleficent’s body started to fall towards the ground and she collapsed making the ground shake.A whimpered snarl escaped her lips as Phoenix landed delicately in front of her and pulled her sword out.Maleficent changed back into her human form and held her hands over her stomach.She glared at Phoenix while Phoenix just looked down at her in thought.Her sword suddenly disappeared and she smirked at Maleficent.

“Mercy.” She said simply before turning her attention to the knights who were surrounding her loved ones.She simply flicked her wrist throwing the knights to the side.She slowly walked up to them and they slowly took her in.She came to a stop in front of them and closed her eyes.When she opened them again they were back to their normal stormy grey and her wings disappeared behind her.The feeling Peter had before was gone now and he frowned as he tried to figure out what it was.Everybody stood up and ran towards her as they hurled questions in her directions.She answered them honestly with three simple words.

“I don’t know.” She said softly.Before anybody could say anything else her eyes found Mateo’s and tears filled her eyes.He was the only person that didn’t run up to her and that’s because he barely had the energy to keep his eyes open.Phoenix ran up to him and gently picked him up.

“We need to get him home.” Lucifer said walking up to the two.She nodded her head and let Peter and Lucifer take him.She held her hand out and the vial that would get them home appeared in her hands.She threw it on the ground and everybody walked up to it.

“You should’ve killed me.” A voice growled from behind them.She turned to see Maleficent holding her staff.Before anybody could react she lifted it up and they all flew into the hole.They groaned as they came in contact with the ground.Phoenix noticed a dagger tied around Lucifer’s ankle and she grabbed it before throwing it in the whole.It hit Maleficent directly in between her eyes.She dropped the staff as her eyes became lifeless.Phoenix watched as her body fell backwards and the hole closed.Phoenix watched helplessly as Peter screamed and started punching the wall as he tried to get the hole opened to go home.It may not have been perfect but it was his home.Mateo had fully healed the minute they stepped through the hole and he grabbed Phoenix’s arm as she tried to make her way to Peter.She gave him a reassuring smile and he looked at her skeptically but let her arm go.She cautiously walked up to him and gently put her hand on his shoulder making him freeze.She turned to look at the others and they all nodded.She gave Mateo the vial that was meant for her grandmother.He took it and ran out of the room with everybody else following behind him.

“Peter.” Phoenix said trying to get him to look at her.He kept his gaze on the wall.She gently put her hands on his face and turned him towards her.His eyes met hers and she felt her heart clench.

′Mate?′ Her wolf asked curiously in her head.Phoenix cursed mentally but pushed the thought away.She had enough mate drama to last her for the rest of her life.

“I’ll get you home.” Phoenix promised softly.Peter wanted to scream and go back to punching the wall but for some reason he couldn’t break his gaze from the beautiful grey eyes locked on his.He slowly licked his lips and shook his head.

“How?You used the whole vial to get you home and you left the book back there.” He said exasperated.

“I don’t know how yet.But I will get you home I promise.” She answered softly.He shut his eyes tightly and nodded his head.He opened his eyes again to look at her.She wanted to walk away and go check on her grandmother but she couldn’t seem to take her eyes away from Peter’s.Without either of them realizing it they began leaning in.Their lips met and they both moaned at the contact.Peter picked Phoenix up effortlessly and pressed her back into the wall he was just punching.Phoenix’s fingers made their way in Peter’s hair as she kissed him passionately.Peter tore his lips from hers and began attacking her neck in kisses.Her grip on his hair tightened as he found her sweet spot making him groan.She unconsciously began grinding herself against him making both of them moan out.

′PHOENIX!′ Her wolf screamed in her head.Phoenix tensed as she realized what was happening.Peter stopped too and put Phoenix down.They both left the room without so much as glancing at each other.Phoenix stopped as she was about to walk past the living room and frowned as she realized everybody was in there.

“What’s going on?” Phoenix asked, making everybody’s heads snap towards her.Instead of answering Mateo and Alex took a step away from each other creating an opening.Phoenix’s breath hitched in her throat as she looked at the moon goddess.
