Chapter 32. Subtitle: my brothers mate. *** Melanie's POV*** I sighed as we sat in the hotel waiting for lulu. It's being a week and I got in touch with lulu to ask her for help in case of th mission. She agreed to join us and we are currently waiting for her. I sat besides Ryker and Jaxon sat the opposite direction with the Vampire besides him. Like always, the vampire is smoking away on his pipe like he got no worries on earth. No one talked. But for a moment I saw Jaxon stood up from his chair with an anxious face on. His eyes twinkled and turned red immediately. It looked like his wolf have taken over. He looked excited and was breathing heavily. "what's wrong Jaxon? " I asked and stood up walking to his side with a worried look. I touch his face and it was burning hot. Was it his wolf that took over? "what's wrong buddy? Ryker asked him. "mate!!” I heard him growl in a voice that isn't his completely. I moved back from him a bit. The voice was deep and scary. Jokes aside! " I snapped and everyone relaxed. "so we are taking the plane back home tomorrow. There is no time to dally around and we would set to a full mission the moment we arrive. There's news that one more pack has been attcked!" I added and drew out a map from my bag placing it on the table *** general POV*** the atmosphere was gloomy as five figures walked through the bushes. The woods was thick and scary. There was no trace of light as the place was all smoky and deadly. Even the chipping of birds and croaking of frogs and tadpoles could sound like a danger sign. One has to look out for himself in a dangerous place as that. Not only is the Alkira deserts a deadly place, it is also the dwelling place of the most dangerous witches of the world No one dared go there. The vampire lead the way. "am scared... I shouldn't have agreed to follow you guys here. What will happen if we all die.. " Lulu muttered with a shaky voice. Melanie kept quiet as I clutch thight to Ryker. He looked at me with reassuring smiles and pat my hair as he lead me though the bushes. She felt sorry for lulu as she was all alone and scared. It took them a lot to separate her from Jaxon when it was time to the embark on the mission,as he insist on going along with us. But only four figures are needed They couldn't risk leaving the whole of seven packs in the hands of the old former alpha king. He is old and braised and won't be able to take care of the situation. So they had to send Jaxon back and then proceeded to this dangerous place without going to the back to the pack first. She looked frozen to the bones and her eyes had change to peach which was also the colour of her glows. Melanie ran towards her as her legs dragged through the bushes. "what's wrong lulu? * Melanie asked as she checked her whole body. Her eyes followed that of lulu and it found it's way to a green snake. "didn't I tell you to shut the f*ck up and don't create any light! Just pray you don't attract the witches with the light you've created. They hate lights when they're in a secretive place! * the Vampire growl angrily and turn to snap at lulu who shivered. "go easy on her! She could have being bitten by a snake! * Melanie snapped also and glared at him. "whosoever told you that all snakes bite? That's a fucking garden snake you can't expect it to bite. Or are you that scared fox? I can't believe I'm doing this. You all a just bunch of idiots. He glared at her and Melanie sighed. Ryler was quiet all those while and just looked. "see.. Calm down dear. It won't hurt you, let's go. " Melanie said to her and hold her shoulders as we continued. The crew walled for a long time and soon approached a huge black mahogany tree. It was really the tallest tree Melanie had ever seen. She could not even see the top of the tree no matter how hard she looked. She badly wanted to fly but then it was the last thing to do now. The place was just too dark that it would blind someone right away. And there were really tall trees and smoke everywhere to blind your eyes more. It was a no go option. The vampire stood and placed his hands on the tree as his hands glowed and changed colour. The other three stood besides him. "it's the gateway.. We have to pass here first! The vampire muttered and started saying some incoherent words. Suddenly his eyes glowed red and he was pushed back by a heavy force. He struggled to balance well but fell down to the floor. He immediately started to vomit blood. He looked brazed. And frightened. “runt " He snapped at the other three who just stood there Confused and not able to do anything. "get the f*ck out of here! * He yelled again and struggled to his feet and he took to his heels backwards But before he could even go far or any of the three could comprehend a thing they were surrounded by a black thick mist all of them went blind for minutes. By the time the mist cleared and they could see faintly they were already surrounded by more than twenty women in black dressing. All of the women had their heads bowed and covered in thick black hoods. Their body too was covered in a long black rope. "how dare you intrude and try to go through the gateway of the immortal world! Your wish for dead has being granted! * The women said in the same tone at the same time. Their voice were the same too. Melanie's breath hitched.
