The Rise to Godhood
Chapter 23: The Departure.

Zelinko stood silent as he absorbed the ambient energy of the beautiful Zeto Crystal, which had a different tint than the Zetani Zeto Crystal. This Zeto Crystal felt purer as if millennia of usage on his home planet had made the Zetani crystal fade.

Zelinko looked at the bag of sapphires he held in his left hand. It was time for him to make a decision. He could share the secret of charging the crystals for the greater good or keep the secret to himself. However, choosing to be altruistic could be dangerous. If the others knew how to charge the sapphires, they had no use for him, and his life would be in danger.

Zelinko turned to the others and spoke, “I must request you to leave.”

“Why?” Arish replied angrily. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Because being the only one capable of Zeto-charging the gemstones is my life insurance. You imprisoned me for two months, Arish. You would throw me to the wolves when I tell you my secret.”

Hearing this, Arish flushed with distinct streaks of silver-green anger on his face. He clenched his fists, and a confrontation seemed imminent.

Gaia telepathed to the True Maker, “Should I intervene, mother?”

“No, let them sort it out by themselves.” True Maker replied.

“But if Zelinko refuses to share the information, he puts everyone at risk. What happens to Zetan civilisation if he dies?” Gaia asked.

“Well, this is my plan. Don’t intervene, Gaia. You’ll save humanity and fulfil your destiny.” True Maker replied.

Gaia broke the connection with True Maker, grabbed Arish’s hand, and telepathed to him, “Let Zelinko win this time. You can find out how to charge the sapphires later.” Arish looked in surprise at Gaia, nodded at Zelinko, and left the cave without a word. The others followed suit until only Gaia and Zelinko remained in the room.

“I am sorry, but I need you to leave,” Zelinko said.

“I already know the secret chant to charge the crystals,” Gaia said to Zelinko.

“That might be true, but I don’t want the others to know that you know,” Zelinko replied.

Gaia studied Zelinko while waiting for True Maker to say anything. The supreme deity stayed silent, so Gaia said, “When you chant, replace Mua Zetani with Mua Zetani Nova to activate this planet’s crystal.

Having said this, Gaia left the cave, so Zelinko could uphold the illusion that he was the only one who knew how to Zeto-charge the sapphires.

Arish felt excited when he saw the large haul of charged gemstones upon Zelinko’s return. These stones would be enough to power a portal for transporting his people and equipment from Disyerto-2 to Zetani Nova. Such an excellent opportunity to find a new home for his people and become the leader of this new Zetan civilisation.

As for Zelinko, Arish thought of a solution to his rival’s uncooperativeness. He would try to insert a nano-robot into his rival in secrecy, which would record his actions. That way, he could learn what he did to charge the sapphires.

The Zetans gathered to discuss the next step.

“So, now that we have bags full of charged sapphires, we need to head back to Disyerto-2 and find as many settlers for this planet as possible. It’s the only way to start up this colony, which will be the jewel of Zetan civilisation.” Arish said.

“I agree, but who should stay and who should go? I am not willing to risk my child’s life on the dangerous crossing through the Divine Dimension.” Areela replied.

“Well, feel free to stay then. Besim and I are following my husband back to Disyerto-2.” Podixa snapped.

“They all need to go for the ideal outcome to occur.” True Maker whispered to Gaia.

“I’ll stay. I can look after Thorax for you.” Gaia said.

“Hmm, I am not willing to leave my child with a stranger,” Areela replied.

“I’ll stay as well. We can look after Thorax for you. Zelinko will need you on the journey.” Kailow said to Areela.

“Thanks, brother. I feel at peace knowing that you are looking after my child.” Areela smiled.

“You need to ascertain that Kailow goes with his sister.” True Maker whispered to Gaia.

“That’s my choice to make,” Gaia replied and blocked out the True Maker.

“So, have we all come to a decision?” Gaia said and smiled at everyone.

“Yes. Zelinko, Areela, Podixa, Besim and I will leave at sunrise. You, Kailow, and Thorax will stay behind and clear an opening in the forest for our new settlers.” Arish replied.

“I agree. Let’s have dinner and prepare for departure. We have already lost valuable time looking for the Zeto Crystal; the sooner we get moving, the better.” Zelinko added in.

Having said this, the group got seated for dinner. They ate in silent anticipation of the days ahead.

The following morning, Gaia witnessed how the other Zetans left Zetani Nova through a makeshift portal. The portal Arish had built consisted of a few metal rods formed together in a pyramid shape with slots for six sapphires. However, he had made plans for building huge portals with hundreds of connected gemstones to enable the teleportation of massive objects.

The building material of the pyramid shape wasn’t important, but the symmetry was. The centre of the energy field needed to be in the centre of the structure; otherwise, unpleasant fluctuations could occur. Using a symmetrical pyramid shape, a prism at the top could spread concentrated sunlight to energise the connected gemstones, creating a stronger interdimensional connection.

Gaia noticed that nothing was left behind after the Zetans had left. Thus, Arish’s portal worked as intended. Gaia looked at Kailow and felt blissful. She was on a paradise planet with the man she loved. Yet, Gaia also had a slight foreboding feeling. She didn’t like that her relationship with Kailow was against True Maker’s wishes.
